The Erasmus Bridge

The Erasmus Bridge is the connection between the northern and southern part of Rotterdam and is the icon of the city. This bridge is not just any bridge, but a suspension bridge. This makes the bridge extra special with its 139-metre-high steel pylon, mounted with forty pendants. It is safe to say that this is a feat of engineering, and one that you, as a Rotterdammer, can be very proud of.
If you want to see Rotterdam at its best, take a walk on the Erasmus Bridge and watch the big ships sail by. At night, the special shape of the bridge is illuminated with atmospheric lights. Not only is the bridge loved by Rotterdammers, but also by many tourists.
